Me, My self & I, Fianl image and evaluation

For this project I photographed my computer, I used my computer as my personal object, because I use it every day, and I wouldn't be able to work with out, because I use it for my photograph and for keeping in touch with friends and playing games, and also technology is a big part of my life with my camera, phone, PS3, and other technological items that I use on a regular basis, so i was also thinking along the idea of technology being of personal importance to me. I photographed it in this way because I wanted to photograph the inner workings of the computer and get some detailed shots of it, I used my macro lens to photograph this image and mounted it on my tripod. because of the lack of light I had to use a long shutter speed of about 1/20th of a second, and because i wanted a better depth of filed I used an aperture of 5.6, even thought this let in less light. I feel that my final image is quite good as an image, but I don't know how well it describes my personality or sees anything about why i have it. but I still think it's a good image.

Tom Dymond, works for a leading sports agency, a job he secured after an internship straight after graduation. Recent projects have included shooting the promotional photos for David William’s' Comic Relief Thames River swim, as well as a host of freelance fashion and sports shoots. He side most valuable aspect for him was the level of professional expertise the tutors brought to the course. he had the world-renowned music photographer Gered Mankowitz as my studio technician and mentor, and they had a huge amount of help with the professional side, teaching them the skills they needed to be successful in the industry. Within the first year they all had work from magazines and by the time they left, they had a portfolio of published, paid work.

This sounds like it could be a good course because they teach chemical and digital photography, and I quite like working in the dark room so I feel I would enjoy this part of the course, the course is also designed to help develop you own visual language, and your ability to express your ideas, and become more independent. And then at the end of the course you have to come up with and produce your own large body of work.

Portrait Photography short course programme.

For some reason I can only find short course other than a master’s degree, but I did fine this course on portrait photography which look interesting, because it teaches you every thing you would need to no to use a studio in a professional way and it also teaches  you how to work with models to get the best results.

I think this course would be good because it encourages you to develop an independent way of working, and let you develop your own independent way of working in a creative way, but also gives you the skills you would need to work in different media areas. I also feel that it would be interesting to work in moving pictures as well as still images.

From what I have read of the opinions from the students on the website I sounds like the university is a nice place to study and work, and that all the tutors and friendly and easy to work with. I didn’t find any student opinions on the photography course but from the other ones, the university look all right.

I feel this course could be good because again it’s photography and video,  the course looks at experimentation in both traditional and digital photography, moving images and sound,  also there is independent projects and group work which will help prepare you for working in a demanding professional position, the course also works on developing your creative ability and become a skilled worker making you more employable.

Me, Myself & I

For this assignment we have to photograph objects that are personal to you. we also have to photograph the objects in a way that also shows our personality, also why you have the object and what it means to you. for this I am thinking of photographing my computer because I use my compute a lot, I play game and talk to friends when not at college.
I am researching Peter Keetman for this, because I particular like how his images are very close up and have lots of detail in them, so I'm thinking that I'll try and do something similar.

Personal Statement

For my self portrait image I have taken it with a 18th century silhouette style, but with a modern look at it, I took my self portrait this what because I didn't particularly what to have that much detail in my face, so I thought about silhouettes, and how I've all ways liked them, and wanted to give one a go.

While taking my images I tyred several different back grounds, to see which worked best, and after looking at my images in light room, I decided that using the sky was the best one because it gave the image some detail in the back ground but not enough to distract the eye from the silhouette, but enough to make it interesting and not flat.

I also whilst taking my images tyred some with and with out my hat, I have chosen one with my hat on because I where it a lot, and it is something that people recognises about me, and it all so gave the silhouette a better finish round the top of my hair instead of all my crazy hair.

I have done some editing of my images in Light room, because I felt that I needed to make the silhouette a bit more silhouette, and that I needed to make the sky a bit better because even thought I had could in the sky, it was still a little flat but after a little tweaking in light room, I managed to bring out some of the contrast in the sky and make it more interesting which also added to the image.

They can also undertake a variety of duties, ranging from identity photographs, photographing engineering faults of ground and air equipment to police photography – even photographing a Royal visit!

With the benefit of training and on-the-job experience (gaining nationally recognised qualifications along the way), RAF Photographers can develop the skills to set up and publish their products on computer networks; they can also be involved in the production of films and videos.

RAF Photographers use photo manipulation software, so candidates should be computer literate. If you are colour blind, you will not be able to join the RAF as a Photographer.

Qualifications you need: GCSEs/SCEs at Grade G/6 minimum or equivalent in English language and maths. Qualifications in graphics and an IT-based subject are desirable

Part Time/ 10 Pound per hour
I am looking for someone who has experience in photographing weddings. The main reason I use an assistant is to take the traditional group shots so I am looking for help from a traditional photographer to compliment my candid style. Please do not apply if you have no experience photographing weddings, as due to previous experiences I cannot give you the job. You must be confident with large groups of people and personable. If a good job is done this will lead on to many more jobs. You must be confident working with your camera on manual and no flash. Please can you supply me with a list of your equipment and camera type and a link to your website or send me some pictures you have taken. 3-4 hours of work available.

I also require a photographer to cover weddings when I'm away on holiday and events I can not cover.

University of Cumbria

This is a BA(hons) photography course it’s a full time and a part time, and the duration of the course is 6, 3 years. I will need 240 ucas points to get on to this course which is a MMM and I think I can achieve that. The first year introduces you to a range of themes and practises, critical theory, and to working independently as a photographer. You will be given a strong grounding in the principles and practise of photography debates and research methods. You will be able to explore a variety of lens-based genre through contemporary and traditional ways of working. You will be able to practise in the way you prefer, and will build a body of work that is a demonstration of your own ideas. You are encouraged to work experimentally either on location or in the studio and will be supported with tutorial groups which access technical workshops in camera and lighting techniques, Adobe Photoshop and printing processes. There is an option to study a module in traditional B&W photography practise if you choose. 
From the second year onwards, tutors will encourage you to further integrate your photography practise with critical thinking. You will work on self-initiated projects and exhibit your work in a public gallery or place. In addition, modules in Advanced Visual Narratives, Work Experience and Critical Discourse are offered in support your chosen position within contemporary practise.
In the third year you focus on an individually negotiated major project resulting in a final public exhibition that includes the production of a high quality professional folio or work in book form.  There is an option to choose either a practical route or a more academic route for those who may wish to do further study after graduating.  The course has a strong professional ethic and you will be encouraged to work towards one of the many career opportunities on graduation.

Chester University

 This is a photography BA (hons) combined the length of the course is 3 years full times, to get onto the course I will need a minimum of 240-280 UCAS points, which is basically a merit/distinction. Photography is an exciting and dynamic course of study, developing each student's individual approach to making photographic images. The programme is supported by guest lectures from international photographers, artists, writers and curators. 
The cross-flow of ideas between Photography and Fine Art is a core feature of the programme. Through the course you are encouraged to explore the material possibilities of the medium by developing digital and darkroom skills while investigating a wide range of different photographic forms including the print, artist's books and the photograph as object. We encourage a wide range of approaches to the medium including documentary, fashion and portraiture and fine art photography practise. We also encourage interdisciplinary study and support access to other art production facilities and teaching contact across the department. Over the three years of the course, we encourage you to reinforce your practise with thorough and wide ranging research.
