Final Project

These are my three final images up on the wall. I think the placement in the exhibition is good, because you see them as soon as you walk in the door, which is good, and I feel that printing them A1 works really well because it makes that have more impact, than if I had done them A3, I also think that the quality of the prints are excellent and really brings out all of the detail in the images. The title also works really well and finishes of the images and gives more of an idea of what the images are about.

I have also got my website and business cards on the table in font of my work which looks good as well and is a good opportunity for me to show of my portfolio, and with the business cards it's good practice for when I'm at university and have to do it my self, I will be able to refer back to these.

I have hear some positive feed back from people going around the exhibition, mentioning, that they look very dramatic and have impact, and that there a strong set of images, I have also had people taking some business cards, and looking at my website. So petty successful

more artists

Since the last post of artist and research that I had done, I have researched one more artist to put into my power point and he is Wolfgang Tillmans I researched him because of his use of colour and dropping into water to create spirals a swirls of colour in the water, so that's something I'm interested in try to recreate with my images.
We have also looked at to documentary photographers witch are Steve McCurry who dose a lot of photographing in India photographing the people and the culture, his work has been used by the national geographic and other high end magazines, and then we looked at Chris Rainier's who photographed tribal people and used some interesting techniques to create move ment in his images witch created strikes of light and colour, he has also done normal images and worked in balck and wight, his work has also been shown in national geographic and in magazines like Time.

Resent work Fujifilm

For this project I started of by researching two other winners of the fujifilm competitions they are Clelia Maumene and Amanda Richardson I picked these two because I particularly liked there work there use of contrast and lighting and colour and also the use of photograms, I also researched Robert mapplethorpe because I was considering wether I could do portraits for this project and I like his work because of the composition and contrast on in his images.
I researched Richard Mosse witch gave me my frist idea. I researched him because of looking in a book called INFRA, witch is a seriers of war image taken on a infrared film witch picks up serrate light and terns some things pink, I researched this because of how the technic add a contrast between the nice pink of the tress and the desalit ground that's been blowen up by war, this is why I picked his work because I like how it looks with the pink I like how that makes the images look and how it's not just about photographing the really bad horrible part of war but he's giving some kind of contrast witch makes the image have more impact. this work gave me my first idea because I was thinking about how games could be seen as a escape from general life and how if I could show a representation of real life against a game it could work, and then finally my second idea came from a TV show called Heros were serrate people have powers, and I remembered one who had a power that was kind of like colour synesthesia where playing an instrument makes the colours have impacts on the real world, I plan on going with my second idea because it's more interesting to me than my first, to do it I plan of using waters and some sort of ink of paint to create a similar kind of effect.

Trip Review

Trip Review
London Trip

Positives
I feel the parts of the trip that went well where they exhibition at the portrait gallery I found that really interesting and feel that the works there where good and inspiring, and I will probably get the book with all the winners in for personal use. I also thin the time had to go around London a little bit was good and it gave use time to see some of the capital and go where we wanted to, witch happened to be M&M world.

Negatives
The amount of time spent traveling was much to long considering last time we set of at about the same time and arrived for about half 12 to one, weather it took use that much longer because the fair was in a different place or the rout the drivers took or traffic I don't no. Other than that it wasn't to bad

Gallery trip

Positives
I feel that this trip was very useful because and informative because we actually got to talk to the photographer that had taken the images and get a different point of view from our teachers, also from what he was saying showed that to get any where in photography you have to work had and have late nights and long hours to achieve, I also felt that his work was good. And I don't think there are any negatives because it was interesting and we didn't spend hours on a bus.

Final image/evaluation

For this assignment we had to produce one image that shows what I think of when I think about family.
To begin with I was just going to do one item but then decided that it didn't really show what I needed it to, so I added an item for each family member and decided to try and show there main occupation, so for my Dad I have put a camera on because he's photographer, then for my Mum I have put money on because she works with money and in administration, then for my sister I used the paint brush and the colored cloth to represent art, then for my brother I used a graphics pen and a game to try and show that he's studying in games design.
I think the style I have done this image in is good, and personally I really like David Hockney's images, but I do think it's a hard thing to get right and to make look really good, I think I have done alright at it but I don't think it's the best image I have ever done for an assignment, but it was Worth trying just for the experience in doing it, I have tried to do it ones or twice before but never taken much time over it but this time I feel that I have given it a good go.
If I was to do this assignment again I wouldn't do it in the same style, even thought I like it I feel that it's not the right style for me.
